Day 29- Friday
We left Warwick on Friday morning after the fog had lifted.
We called into the Warwick Potters exhibition. They had lovely display of the local potters works of art. I sold all my pottery gear earlier this year and one of the ladies from Warwick potters bought some of my things, and I recognized her as we walked into the gallery.
They are also part of the Jumpers and Jazz festival, so have a scarf and beanie on the sculpture outside the clubhouse. They had a large exhibition and soup last night, where you got a bowl of soup and you took home the bowl made by the potters. There was 250 people there so was a success.
This is on the road at Cunninghams Gap. There are several containers filled with rocks, to stop the other rocks falling onto the road from the landslides.
We only had a short distance to travel as we are staying near Ipswich for the weekend. The motor racing is on at Willowbank and Peter is going to that Saturday and Sunday. We have parked the van at Peters cousins at Wallon which is only a short distance to the racing track.
After unhooking the van we went into Ipswich to visit Peters uncle who is almost 90. He is doing pretty good for his age. He still lives in a high set house and walks up and down the steps several times a day with little effort.
This is the first time we have not been connected to power when away in the van. The fridge, hot water and stove all work on gas and lights etc are 12 volts so its not a problem.
Day 30- Saturday
Peter left for the motor racing early this morning and spent the whole day there. I had a relaxing day making cards which I haven't had a chance to do the last few weeks, so we both did things we enjoy doing.
Some of Peters photos of the racing-
We took Peters cousin - Micky and his wife Pam to the local pub for dinner.
Day 31- Sunday
Greg ( Peter's brother) came down to go to the motor racing with Peter today. It's a bit overcast here today with a few light spits of rain, but I think it will clear soon. I will make some more cards today, so another relaxing day for me.
This will probably be my last blog for this trip, as we will be leaving here tomorrow morning and should be home by lunch time.
We have had a great trip. Peter is pleased to be back in the warmer weather. He said he definitely doesn't want to live down south in the cold.
That's all for now
Cheerio and love from
Lesley and Peter.
