Day 10- Sophie's party

Hi everyone,

We started off this morning by going to prison. No, we weren't in trouble - the old Pentridge Gaol now have markets, so we went to check them out. Some of the market stalls were inside the prison along the long narrow corridors leading to the cells. Some of the cells were open to show what they were like - very dark and cold. The markets only started last week and they aren't very far from where we are staying. There are also units built on prison grounds and people live there (by choice).

There were 3 levels and the markets were on the bottom level.

After buying some fresh fruit and vegies and bits and pieces we went to Scott and Courtney's. We helped with some of the last minute things for Sophie's party before everyone arrived. Here's the birthday girl with Mum and Dad, then with the grandparents.

Sophie had a lovely day with her friends and family.

Hopefully she sleeps well tonight after her big day. She didn't sleep much last night - must have been excited about her party.

The weather this morning was beautiful and sunny, then started to cloud over by lunch time. It's now started raining. (Typical Melbourne weather.)Hopefully will clear again by the morning.

Till next time,

Love from Lesley and Peter.

  1. Looks like you had a fantastic time at Sophie's party. Those pictures are going to make a lovely scrapbook, Lesley.

I hadn't realised that Pentridge prison had closed down and opened to tourists. Looks like it would have been fascinating to visit.

We'll miss you tomorrow at Craft Class but I am happy to know you are enjoying your stay there :)
