Day 7

We woke this morning to gentle rain on the roof, just ideal for sleeping in. However, as we were leaving Narrabri today that wasn't possible. So we packed up in the rain - not a joyous task!
We set out for Walgett via the Kamilaroi Highway, but decided we would head north just before Walgett and go to Lightning Ridge and stay there for a night or two. It rained most of the way, and there were areas where water was lying around the paddocks, and along the roadside, so hope we can get out of here when we want to. We have heard that there is lots of rain back home and on the east coast of NSW.

From Narrabri there were hundreds of acres under cultivation, most just recently harvested or just ploughed ready for the next crop.

I am having trouble with posting this blog with the photos I want to put on today, so will try doing it separately and hope it works. If no photos appear you know it didn't work.

We will do some of the touristy things tomorrow, weather permitting. You never know we might find some opals! (wishful thinking).
