Day 28

Hello again

It's been a lovely sunny day here in Warwick, although it is a bit cool. Jannine and I went into town to check out the handcraft display at the CWA, and the tea cosy exhibition at the Art Gallery this morning.












This week Warwick is celebrating the the Jumper and Jazz Festival, so they have displays all over town. They even have trees dressed up in a variety of themes and various art installations throughout the town. There have been many busy people doing a lot of knitting and crocheting for this festival.



















After lunch we went on a walking tour of Warwick with the local Town Crier giving a talk on the history of the area and pointing out many of the historic buildings.

There was one other couple with us on the walk, and they live in Redcliffe. Such a small world. I didn't know them but I thought her face was familiar.

We are having dinner and movie with Anthony and Jannine again tonight. They are staying in one of the cabins.

Day 27

Hi again,
I hope this isn't confusing you as I am now doing the blog for yesterday - Wednesday.
Some family photos before leaving Gae and Graham's about 8.30 am.












It was cold again this morning with 2 degrees showing on the car as we left. We hitched up to the caravan which we had left at Mark's and drove to Warwick.

These are some of the huge granite boulders on the road to Gae's. They are big considering that more than half of the rock is in the ground!







...and some more cattle in the long paddock.








The countryside near Uralla...


We arrived at Warwick and met friends Jannine and Anthony here. They are from Petrie, they decided to meet us here for a couple of relaxing days together. Jannine cooked dinner for us last night then we watched the funny movie "9 to 5". We often get together for a meal and movie for a great night.

Day 26

Hi everyone

I did post a blog for day 26 on Tuesday night but I have no idea what happened to it. It said it posted successfully but can't find it anywhere. I guess it's somewhere " in the clouds". So I will try again.

We are still at Uralla and it was a cool 1 or 2 degrees again. These photos were taken about 8 am, with frost and ice on the ground , water trough, wood heap and car.









We had a relaxing day at home. Graham had to put some sheep into a pen so these are some photos of the sheep and buildings.

Hope this blog is more successful. The Internet service is a bit limited at Gae's so not sure if that was the problem.

Day 24 and 25

Hello again

It was a cool 1 degree in Gunnedah this morning,( day 24) but turned out to be a lovely sunny day. We left for Uralla, about a 2 1/2 hour drive.












We left our caravan at my nephews place in Uralla as the road to Gae and Graham's is not suitable for our van. We met Gae and Graham and went to lunch in Uralla before going to Graham's sister and brother- in- laws property for afternoon tea. Tony has a large museum which he proudly showed us. Peter could have spent a whole day looking at all his antiques and memorabilia.









I liked this cloud formation as the sun was setting-




On our way back to Gae's the temperature got down to 1 degree. They have a wood heater in the house so it's lovely and cosy.

Day 25
Another fine but cool day today at Uralla, at around 8-10 degrees most of the day. We went to Armidale and after a tasty lunch, we went to the local museum.




Peter was impressed with this camera. However, I think it would be a bit heavy to carry around to photograph a wedding!!!









These are some of the historic buildings around Armidale, some dating back to 1850.












We arrived back home to this beautiful sunset on the 2,500 acre sheep station.




And here are just a couple of Graham's 1,600 sheep.
